Ingredients

  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Water - 2 cups
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of Turmeric
  • Bay Leaf - 1
  • Oil
  • Vegetables:
  • Beans - 6 cut lengthwise
  • Onions - 2 cut into fine strips
  • Carrot - 1 (small)l
  • Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Mint leaves - 2 sprigs
  • Potato - 1 cut in cubes
  • For masala:
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Cloves - 3
  • Garlic - 3 pods
  • Ginger - a small piece
  • Onion - 1
  • Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Poppy Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Star anise - 1
  • How to Make Tasty Mixed Vegetable Biryani:

    1. Wash rice and keep aside.
    2. Grind all the ingredients for the masala.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the ground masala with bay leaf.
    4. Once the oil separates, add the vegetables.
    5. When half-cooked, add salt and turmeric.
    6. Add water. Bring to a boil.
    7. Add rice and cook on high flame for 3 mins.
    8. When water boils again, switch to a low flame.
    9. Close lid and cook for 15 mins.
    10. Switch of stove and let the rice set for 10 mins.
    11. Serve hot with raitha.
