How to Make Tasty Potato Bonda

  • Boil and mash the potatoes well.
  • Mince the onions, ginger and green chillies fine, tear the curry leaves to small pieces and chop the coriander leaves.
  • Heat oil. Season with urad dal, mustard and broken red chillies.
  • Add onion, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
  • Cook for 2-3 mins. until the onion is tender.
  • Add mashed potatoes, coriander leaves and salt.
  • Remove from fire and mix well.  
  • Shape into balls, the size of  a small lime.
  • Make a batter of coating consistency with besan, rice flour, salt and sufficient water. 
  • Coat the potato balls with the batter and deep fry in hot oil.
  • Drain off oil and serve hot.
