Ingredients

  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 1/2 cup - Rice (washed and soaked for 20 minutes)
  • 8 - green cardamoms, peeled and powdered
  • 20 strands - Saffron (soaked in 2 to 3 tbsp of hot milk)
  • 6 -7 tbsp - Sugar
  • 14 - Almonds
  • 12 - pistachio.
  • How to Make Tasty Rice Kheer:

    1. Boil the milk. After it boils, let it simmer.
    2. Drain out the water from the rice and grind it coarsely.
    3. Add the rice to the milk and stir continuously for 10 to 15 minutes, so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the vessel.
    4. Add saffron and powdered cardamoms.
    5. Boil the milk till the rice is cooked and the milk thickens.
    6. Add sugar and cook for few more minutes till the sugar dissolves.
    7. Remove from the stove.
    8. Boil the almonds and pistachios in one cup of water for 5 minutes.
    9. Remove from the stove and let it cool.
    10. Peel off the skin and finely slice them.
    11. Add to the kheer and mix well.
    12. Serve.
