  • 1 cups - Rice
  • 1 cups - moong dal
  • 1/2 cup - gram dal
  • Water as needed
  • Jaggery
  • Some Cashew nuts and Raisins
  • 1/4 cup - Coconut (grated)
  • Ghee
  • How to Make Tasty Sakkarai Pongal:

    1. Pressure cook rice, moong dal, and gram dal.
    2. Take vellam (amount should be 2/3 of cooked mixture) and dissolve in a little water.
    3. Heat it separately.
    4. Add this to the rice-dal mixture and mix well.
    5. Roast cashew nuts, raisins, and grated coconut in ghee.
    6. Add this to the mixture and stir well.
    7. Add some extra ghee while serving.
