Ingredients

  • 1 cups - rice
  • 1 cups - moong dal
  • 1/2 cup - gram dal
  • Water as needed
  • Jaggery
  • Some cashew nuts and raisins
  • 1/4 cup - Coconut (grated)
  • Ghee

How to Make Tasty Sakkarai Pongal

  • Pressure cook rice, moong dal, and gram dal.
  • Take vellam (amount should be 2/3 of cooked mixture) and dissolve in a little water.
  • Heat it separately.
  • Add this to the rice-dal mixture and mix well.
  • Roast cashew nuts, raisins, and grated coconut in ghee.
  • Add this to the mixture and stir well.
  • Add some extra ghee while serving.
