Ingredients

  • 200 g - whole Wheat
  • 300 g - Sugar
  • 3 tbsp - chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp - Orange food colour
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 100 g - Ghee

How to Make Tasty Wheat Halwa

  • Soak the wheat in water overnight.
  • Drain and wash well.
  • Grind the wheat in a mixer using a little water to a smooth paste.
  • Dissolve sugar in 1 cup of water and boil till a thick syrup is formed.
  • Add the wheat paste, chopped nuts, food colour and vanilla essence and mix well.
  • Stirring all the time and adding ghee now and then, simmer on low heat till the mixture becomes rubbery and collects in the centre of the pan.
  • Pour out onto a greased plate and cut into squares.
