Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Basmati Rice (soaked for half an hour)
  • 1/2 cup - Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup - Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 cup - Boiled vegetables (like potatoes, Carrots and cauliflower)
  • 1/4 cup - Chopped Capsicum
  • 1/4 cup - Boiled Green peas
  • 1 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Pav bhaji masala
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 - Butter cubes
  • 1/4 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Pinch of Hing
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • How to Make Tava Pulav:

    1. Boil water and add a little ghee with salt. Add basmati rice and cook it till 85-90 % done. Drain water and keep aside.
    2. Heat butter cubes in a pan and add cumin seeds along with hing. Once they splutter, add ginger-garlic paste and chopped onion.
    3. Saute for 3-4 minutes and then add chopped tomato and capsicum.
    4. Add all the boiled vegetables after 2 minutes.
    5. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and pav bhaji masala and mix well.
    6. Once vegetables are well-coated with spices, add cooked rice.
    7. Cook on high flame for 2 minutes and mix well.
    8. Squeeze lemon juice and sprinkle chopped coriander before serving.
