Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tbsp - vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 2 inch - ginger, grated
  • 2-3 Cloves - garlic, sliced
  • 1 - large onion, chopped
  • 1 - large capsicum, chopped (red and green)
  • 3-4 - large tomatoes, chopped finely
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - Pav Bhaji masala
  • 1/2 cup - green peas, frozen (if using fresh, boil it beforehand)
  • 2-3 - Green chillies (or as needed)
  • About 2.5 cups - cooked Rice (leftovers work great)
  • Fresh Cilantro leaves for garnish, as needed
  • How to Make Tawa Pulao:

    1. Heat the butter and oil in a pan.
    2. Add the seeds and when you get an aroma, add onions, ginger, garlic and chillies along with salt.
    3. Add the chopped tomatoes and bell peppers along with some water.
    4. Cook in high heat for a few minutes until water starts oozing out of the tomatoes, then reduce the heat and simmer until the tomatoes are cooked.
    5. Add the spices and mix them well.
    6. Add the rice, cilantro and peas.
    7. Give it a toss and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
    8. Serve hot.
