  • 2 cups - Channa dal
  • 2 - Dry Red Chillies
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger
  • 4 - Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 2 - Onions (finely chopped)
  • A few Curry leaves
  • Oil for Deep Frying
  • Coriander leaves, chopped (optional)
  • How to Make Tea Kadai Masal Vadai:

    1. Soak the channa dal for 3 hours.
    2. Drain the water, and grind the dal with ginger, garlic cloves, dry red chillies, green chillies, fennel seeds and salt in a mixie jar. Grind it to a coarse paste.
    3. Now add the chopped onions and curry leaves, mix everything well and make medium sized balls with it.
    4. Heat the oil.
    5. Take a ball; flatten it to medium sized patties.
    6. Fry them in batches till they turn crispy and golden brown.
    7. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
    8. Serve with tea or coffee.
