Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Channa dal
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger
  • 4 - Garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 2 - Onions (finely chopped)
  • A few curry leaves
  • Oil for Deep Frying
  • Coriander leaves, chopped (optional)

How to Make Tea Kadai Masal Vadai

  • Soak the channa dal for 3 hours.
  • Drain the water, and grind the dal with ginger, garlic cloves, dry red chillies, green chillies, fennel seeds and salt in a mixie jar. Grind it to a coarse paste.
  • Now add the chopped onions and curry leaves, mix everything well and make medium sized balls with it.
  • Heat the oil.
  • Take a ball; flatten it to medium sized patties.
  • Fry them in batches till they turn crispy and golden brown.
  • Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Serve with tea or coffee.
