  • Any fish - 1/2 kg
  • 2 tsp - cumin
  • 150 g - mustard oil
  • 1 cup - coconut milk
  • 1 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1 tsp - chilli paste
  • Salt for marination and to taste
  • 3/4 tsp - turmeric powder for marination and colour
  • 3 each - cardamom, cinnamon, clove

How to Make Tel Koi Mach

  • Clean the fish and marinate with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp salt.
  • Take 3 tbsp of mustard oil in non stick kadai and shallow-fry the fish.
  • Heat the kadai again with 3 tbsps mustard oil and splutter the cumin seeds.
  • Add cinnamon, clove and cardamom.
  • Put the ginger, chilli paste, 1/4 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt.
  • Fry it and pour the coconut milk.
  • When it starts boiling, put the fish in it and reduce the flame.
  • After it boils, put the garam masala paste and simmer for 5 mins.
  • Serve.
