Ingredients

  • 2 - large Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp - Tamarind paste
  • 3 - Red Chillies
  • 1 - pinch Turmeric powder
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic
  • 2 - stalks of Curry leaves
  • 1 stalk - Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Telangana Rasam:

    1. Cut tomatoes and in a vessel, add 4 cups of water, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, pepper powder and salt.
    2. Let it boil for 15 -20 minutes or till the tomatoes are cooked well on a medium flame.
    3. Now heat a pan, add oil followed by mustard and cumin seeds.
    4. Once it splutters, add curry leaves, red chillies and chopped garlic.
    5. Add this to the boiling rasam.
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
