  • 2 Medium Size Potatoes (peeled but not cooked)
  • 1 cup - Grated Coconut
  • 2 tsps - Yellow Curry paste
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Crushed Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Thai-Vegetarian Gang Gar Ree:

    1. First grind the grated coconut with water and then filter it.
    2. Keep the coconut milk aside. It should be thick. Don't make it too thin.
    3. Then cut the potatoes into thin round slices and keep it aside.
    4. Now take the pan and add half of the coconut milk and add two tsps of yellow curry paste (recipe given below).
    5. Then allow it to boil until you see the oil separate from the coconut milk.
    6. Then add sugar and stir for 2 minutes.
    7. Add the sliced potatoes and the rest of the coconut milk and salt.
    8. Heat it covered with a lid until the potatoes are cooked.
    9. Reduce the heat to low and keep it for 10 minutes.
    10. You can add the red chilli if you want it to be spicy now.
    11. Before serving, decorate it with sliced green chillies.
    12. This can be served with plain white rice.
    13. Yellow curry:
    14. Grind cumin seeds, coriander seeds, turmeric powder in the ratio of 2: 2: 1 in a blender with/without water.
