  • 1 1/2 cups - semolina
  • 1 1/2 cups - Coconut Milk
  • 3/4 cup - finely ground Jaggery
  • 3 ripe Bananas
  • 2 tbsps - water
  • a pinch of salt
  • handful split Almonds or Cashewnuts
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • How to Make Thali Sweet:

    1. Heat 2 tbsps. of ghee and fry semolina to a golden brown colour.
    2. Peel and mash the bananas and mix with semolina and the rest of the above ingredients with the exception of almonds.
    3. Spread the mixture in a greased thali and decorate with split almonds.
    4. Steam for about 20 mins. or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
    5. Cut into neat little cubes with a sharp knife. You can serve it either hot or cold.
