Ingredients

  • 6 - ripe Bananas
  • 6 tsps - thambuttu powder
  • 6 tsps - Sugar
  • 2 tsps - roasted sesame seeds
  • 4 tsps - Honey
  • 4 tbsps - Coconut grated
  • 1tbsp -ghee
  • For the thambuttu powder:
  • 1 kg - boiled Rice
  • 6 - Cardamoms
  • 1 tsp - Fenugreek
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Thambuttu

  • Sprinkle a little water on the rice and roast on a tawa till it is dark brown and crisp
  • Roast fenugreek and cardamoms.
  • Make all this into a fine powder and add salt.
  • For thambuttu:
  • Peel and mash bananas.
  • Add sugar, honey, sesame, coconut and thambuttu powder.
  • Knead the powder and the banana mix into a fairly thick but soft dough.
  • Make small balls and press a bit in the centre. Serve.
