Ingredients

  • 2 tsp - dhaniya
  • 2 tsp - besan
  • 8 - Red Chilli
  • 2 tsp - Coconut
  • safoetida, a pinch
  • 2 cups - Tamarind extract
  • Jaggery, a chunk
  • 1 cup - snake gourd/cluster beans
  • How to Make Thani kootu:

    1. Extract and boil tamarind for 10 mins.
    2. Roast chilli, dhania, besan, coconut in some oil and grind to a paste. Add to tamarind extract.
    3. Let it boil for some time. After it boils, add jaggery. Allow it to thicken.
    4. Boil the vegetable until tender and add it to the gravy.
    5. Add some fried coconut. Season with mustard.
    6. Add curry leaves and serve hot.
