Ingredients

  • 28 - chillies
  • Coconut - 1 (small)
  • 1 tbsp - coriander powder
  • 24 flakes - Garlic
  • 1-inch piece - Ginger
  • 1 pinch - Cumin seeds
  • 1 - medium Onion
  • 2 - Onions
  • 12 - pepper Corns
  • 4 - shark pieces
  • 1-inch piece - Turmeric
  • 1 tsp - Vinegar
  • How to Make Thato (Shark) Curry:

    1. Grind 10 chillies, 1 cup grated coconut, a few garlic flakes, cumin seeds and peppercorns into a fine paste.
    2. Saute chopped onions till they turn pink, add ginger and remaining chillies, and keep aside.
    3. Mix the paste and minced onion mixture in vinegar. Add to the sauteed onions and boil.
    4. Now add fish and salt to taste.
    5. Simmer the curry for a few minutes until fish is done.
