Ingredients

  • 28 - chillies
  • Coconut - 1 (small)
  • 1 tbsp - coriander powder
  • 24 flakes - garlic
  • 1-inch piece - ginger
  • 1 pinch - cumin seeds
  • 1 - medium onion
  • 2 - onions
  • 12 - pepper corns
  • 4 - shark pieces
  • 1-inch piece - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - vinegar

How to Make Thato (Shark) Curry

  • Grind 10 chillies, 1 cup grated coconut, a few garlic flakes, cumin seeds and peppercorns into a fine paste.
  • Saute chopped onions till they turn pink, add ginger and remaining chillies, and keep aside.
  • Mix the paste and minced onion mixture in vinegar. Add to the sauteed onions and boil.
  • Now add fish and salt to taste.
  • Simmer the curry for a few minutes until fish is done.
