Ingredients

  • Raw Rice - 6 small cups
  • Mixture of Toor dal, Moong dal and Urad dal - 1 cup
  • Pepper and salt - for taste

How to Make Thavala Dosa

  • Coarsely grind the raw rice in the mixie to look like rava. Add hot water to it.
  • Soak toor dal, moong dal and urad dal for 3-4 hours.
  • Grind it in the mixie. While grinding, add salt and pepper.
  • Remove it from the mixie and mix it with the ground rice. Leave it aside for the night. Next day, it will be a thick paste.
  • Pour a ladleful in a shallow thick bottomed bowl and close.
  • Cook it on low heat. Add oil just like you would for dosa.
  • After 10 mins, it will be ready. It should be fried on one side only.
