  • Raw Rice - 6 small cups
  • Mixture of Toor dal, Moong dal and Urad Dal - 1 cup
  • Pepper and salt - for taste
  • How to Make Thavala Dosa:

    1. Coarsely grind the raw rice in the mixie to look like rava. Add hot water to it.
    2. Soak toor dal, moong dal and urad dal for 3-4 hours.
    3. Grind it in the mixie. While grinding, add salt and pepper.
    4. Remove it from the mixie and mix it with the ground rice. Leave it aside for the night. Next day, it will be a thick paste.
    5. Pour a ladleful in a shallow thick bottomed bowl and close.
    6. Cook it on low heat. Add oil just like you would for dosa.
    7. After 10 mins, it will be ready. It should be fried on one side only.
