How to Make The Konkan Thunder

  • Clean, wash and cut chicken into medium sized pieces.
  • Clean and cut one onion into thin long slices.
  • In a frying pan, saute the onions till dark brown. Keep aside.
  • Then roast the poppy seeds and dry coconut till it changes its colour.
  • Grind together onion and coconut with water.
  • Make a very fine paste of it. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute one finely cut onion till golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste. Fry for a min, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder.
  • Saute for a min. Add chicken and 1 cup of water.
  • When it starts boiling, cover it with the lid.
  • When the chicken is 3/4th cooked, add salt and the paste in it.
  • Cook till the chicken is done.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.
