Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - French beans (you can also use string beans, carrots, palak, spring onions, red palak, okras etc.)
  • 1 - medium Onion
  • 2-3 - Green chillies
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1 pinch - Jeera powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 -red dry chillies
  • 4 - 5 - Curry leaves
  • How to Make Thoran:

    1. Chop the vegetables, onion and green chillies.
    2. Add the grated coconut and jeera powder to this mixture and mix all.
    3. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds in the oil.
    4. When the seeds splutter, add dry chillies and curry leaves.
    5. Add the vegetable in the mixture and mix well.
    6. Pour a little water and close the lid.
    7. Cook for 8 -10 minutes in low flame. Serve with rice.
