Ingredients

  • 1 - small cabbage (shredded in a food processor)
  • 1 - chopped onion
  • 2-3 - small green chillies, chopped
  • 2 sprigs - curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin/ jeera seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 2-3 tbsp - desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp - coconut oil (or a light cooking oil of your choice)
  • Salt - to taste

How to Make Thoran (South Indian style cabbage)

  • In a kadai, fry the onions in heated oil, followed by all the other ingredients.
  • After cooking for 2-3 mins, add the cabbage and let it cook till soft.
  • Garnish with coconut and curry leaves and serve hot.
