Ingredients

  • rice flour -1 cup
  • onions - 1 big (very finely chopped)
  • grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • green chillies - 5 to 6
  • coriander - little finely chopped
  • jeera - little
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to Make Thottidhu

  • Mix rice flour, salt and jeera. Add onions, green chillies, coconut, coriander and mix well. Add little water to make a very stiff dough.
  • Make even sized balls (little bigger than puri balls and smaller than chapatti balls).
  • Start heating the oil.
  • Take a glossed paper (or plantain leaf or plastic cover).
  • Put the balls on it and put 2-3 drops of oil on top of it.
  • Flatten the balls and put them in oil.
  • Fry till golden brown or lighter.
  • Thottidhu is now ready to eat it can be served with curds.
  • Note:
  • If you want it crisp, then make the thottidhu thin.
