Ingredients

  • 1 cup - moong dhal
  • 1 cup - cucumber
  • green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 - onion
  • 1 - tomatoes
  • coriander leaves chopped
  • oil for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • salt to taste
  • 1- lime
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder

How to Make Thove

  • Pressure cook 1 cup dal.
  • Cut cucumber into small long pieces and boil for a while.
  • In a pan, add oil, jeera, mustard, green chillies.
  • When it splutters, add sliced onion, tomatoes and fry well.
  • Add to dal, sprinkle turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Add lime juice, pinch of sugar and mix well.
  • Serve with poori, roti, chapatti and rice.
