  • Tomatoes - 2 big
  • Onion - 1 big
  • Urad dhal - 1/2 cup
  • Red Chillies - 1 to 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp + 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • How to Make Tomato and Onion Chutney:

    1. Chop onion and tomatoes into big pieces.
    2. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry urad dal till light brown. Remove from oil. Let it cool.
    3. Coarsely powder in mixer without water. Let it remain in the mixer.
    4. In the same oil, fry onion till translucent and not brown.
    5. Remove into the mixer and cool. Grind dal and onion coarsely.
    6. In the same oil, fry tomatoes and chilli till they are half-cooked. Cool and add in the mixer.
    7. Grind all three together coarsely. Add salt.
    8. Heat 1 tsp oil. Season with mustard seeds and pour over chutney.
