Tomato Curry is a delicious Indian recipe served as a Side Dish for rice or chapati. This recipe is popular in South India especially in Kerala and Andhra.

Ingredients

  • Tomato - 1 (large, chopped)
  • Onion - 1/2 (chopped)
  • Green chilli - 4 (split)
  • Ginger - 1/2 tsp (chopped)
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • For grinding:-
  • Coconut - 2 cup (grated)
  • Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic - 2 Cloves
  • For seasoning:-
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli - 4
  • Curry leaves
  • How to Make Tomato Curry:

    1. Cook tomato, onion, ginger, green chilli with coriander powder, turmeric powder in one cup of water.
    2. Grind coconut, jeera, garlic thoroughly.
    3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, allow to splutter. Add red chilli, curry leaves and add the ground mixture into it. Saute.
    4. Add the seasoned mixture into the cooked tomato.
    5. Add salt and gently boil it for 2 minutes.
