Ingredients

  • 2 big - tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp - channa daal
  • 1/2 tbsp - urad daal
  • 1/2 tbsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - methi seeds
  • lemon size - tamarind
  • A pinch - hing
  • 4 - red chillies
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • salt

How to Make Tomato-Dal chutney

  • Fry channa daal, urad daal, mustard, methi seeds and red chillies in 2 tbsp of oil.
  • When the mustard splutters, add the tamarind, hing and green chillies to it. Let it cool.
  • Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
  • In a blender, first grind the seasoning and then add the cubed tomatoes.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Grind until consistency is smooth.
