Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp - sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - black gram
  • 1 - red chilli made into pieces
  • 3-4 - curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - of oil
  • 2 - big tomatoes cut into pieces
  • 2 - medium sized onions cut into pieces
  • 3 - sprigs coriander finely cut
  • 2 - tbsp curd
  • 1 - karhai, water and salt to taste.

How to Make Tomato gojji

  • Place the kadai on fire and fry the black gram, mustard, red chilli in oil.
  • When mustard starts sputtering, add the onions, curry leaves and fry till the onion becomes transparent.
  • Add the tomatoes and fry briefly.
  • Now add the rest of the ingredients and fry with the lid closed.
  • Add a little water just enough to partially cover the vegetables.
  • Remove from fire after 8 mins when tomatoes and onions have mixed well.
  • Now add the curd.
  • Add a little more curd and water if it is necessary.
  • You can also add the cut coriander leaves later.
