Ingredients

  • 5-6 - tomatoes, medium
  • 1 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp - flax seeds
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 3-4 - green chillies
  • 3 tsp - mustard oil
  • For tempering :
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - channa dal
  • 3-4 - curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - mustard oil

How to Make Tomato Sesame Chutney

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add sesame seeds and fry for a minute. Keep aside.
  • Roast flax seeds in the same pan and keep aside.
  • In the same pan, add tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Cover the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes turn tender. Let it cool.
  • Grind flax seeds and add it to the tomato mix.
  • Mix everything together and blend in a chutney jar.
  • For tempering, heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add curry leaves, channa dal, urad dal and cumin seeds. Fry for a minute.
  • Pour this tadka over the chutney. Mix well.
