  • 250 g - tooriyas
  • 100 g - poppy seeds
  • 1 - medium potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 tsp - sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - black jeera
  • 2 - green chillies, sliced
  • 1 - small piece ginger
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt and chilli powder to taste

How to Make Tooriya Posta Charchari

  • Grind poppy seeds to a paste.
  • Peel and slice tooriyas.
  • Heat 2 tbsps oil, and add kalajeera and the vegetables and fry nicely, put in the rest of the above ingredients with the exception of poppy seeds.
  • Mix well and put in 1 cup water.
  • Cook till the vegetables are almost done, then put in poppy seeds and cook till the vegetables are tender and completely dry.
  • Pour in 2 tbsps oil and fry till the mixture turns to a rich brown colour and a nice smell comes out of the poppy seeds.
