Ingredients

  • 1 cup - skinless black lentils, soaked for 2 to 3 hours
  • 2 tbsp - Rice flour
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Onions
  • 1 tbsp - chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp - grated Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp - crushed peppercorns
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • Oil to deep-fry

How to Make

  • Soak black lentils and drain excess water.
  • Grind it to make a smooth batter
  • Add all other ingredients except baking soda and mix well. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
  • Just before frying, add baking soda into it and whisk it well for 2-3 mins.
  • Heat oil in deep-frying pan and put big spoonful of batter.
  • Fry till golden-brown in colour.
  • Serve hot.
