Ingredients

  • 2 cups -Basmati Rice
  • One bunch -Spinach leaves.
  • One -small Onion finely chopped.
  • 6 -7 flakes - Garlic.
  • 1 tsp - Chilly powder.
  • 1/2 tsp - Coriander powder.
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder.
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin powder.
  • 3/4 tsp-Turmeric powder.
  • 3/4- tsp powdered cloves.
  • 3/4 - tsp Cinnamon powder.
  • 2 tsp - Pure Ghee.
  • 60 ml - Tamarind Juice.

How to Make Traditional Palak Pulav

  • Separate the spinach leaves from the stem and grind it in to a paste.
  • Rinse the rice well in water.
  • Take a pressure cooker and heat the ghee for 2 mins.
  • Add onion and garlic and fry it till golden brown.
  • Add all the powders, one by one, and add rice, ground spinach paste, salt, 3 cups of water.
  • Keep this for 3 pressure cooker whistles.
  • Serve hot.
