How to Make Traditional Palak Raita

  • Wash palak with lukewarm water and chop them.
  • Cut onions and green chillies into fine pieces.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a shallow pan.
  • When it is sufficiently hot, add ginger and green chillies.
  • When these are completely fried, add jeera and mustard seeds.
  • Add onions to this seasoning and let it fry for a few minutes till it turns light brown.
  • Then add cut palak and salt and allow it to fry.
  • After a few minutes, close lid and cook it till it leaves some water.
  • Then remove the lid and let the excess water evaporate.
  • Once it is cooked, remove it from the stove and let it cool.
  • After it has cooled down, add curd and garnish it with coriander leaves.
