Ingredients

  • 3 cups - Basmathi Rice
  • 1 full Spinach (palak)
  • 6 - 8 - Mint leaves
  • 1-2 - Patta
  • 1-2 - Lavang
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • Salt
  • How to Make Traditional Palak rice:

    1. Cook 3 cups of basmati rice with only 3 cups of water and keep it aside to get it cool.
    2. Cut 1 full spinach (palak) into small pieces and boil with little water in the microwave for 3-4 minutes.
    3. Then grind the palak with 2 green chillies in to a paste.
    4. Take a non-stick vessel and add some oil in it. When the oil becomes hot, add patta and lavang. After 2 minutes add cooked basmathi rice and the palak paste to it and mix it very well.
    5. Simmer the rice for 5-7 minutes, add mint leaves and some salt to it.
    6. Palak rice is ready to eat.
