Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg- Paneer
  • 1 - Green bell pepper - finely sliced
  • 1- Red bell pepper - finely sliced
  • 1 medium sized- Onion - finely chopped
  • 1 - Green chilli
  • 1/2 " -Finely chopped Ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lime juice- 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind sauce- 2 tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp- Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Jeera/cumin powder
  • Butter for roasting - 100 g
  • 2-3 tbsp - Cooking oil
  • 6 - Cooked rotis/burrito bread
  • How to Make Traditional Paneer kathi rolls:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions until pink.
    2. Add green chilli, ginger and the bell peppers to it.
    3. Now add the powdered spices, salt and pepper.
    4. Add the paneer, cover with a lid and cook until soft.
    5. Mash the paneer and the vegetables and add 1 tsp lime juice and the sauce as per taste.
    6. Simmer for 2 mins and set aside to cool.
    7. Meanwhile, heat a tava and some brush some butter on it.
    8. Now place 1-2 tbsp of the mix on each roti and form a roll.
    9. Place the roll on the heated tawa until brown on both the sides.
    10. Serve with sauce or chutney.
