Paneer Tikka Masala is a popular Indian Cottage Cheese side-dish made with paneer. Paneer is rolled into tikkas and added to a tomato based gravy. It is a great alternative to the Chicken Tikka Masala. It is loved by Vegetarians for its rich, appetizing taste.

Ingredients

  • 75g - paneer
  • 100g - tomato
  • 25g - butter
  • 100g - cream
  • 25g - curd
  • 2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - jeera powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp - kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 25g - cashew nuts
  • 25g - mawa
  • 2 tsp - coriander leaves
  • 200g - green chillies
  • Lime juice of a lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • For tandoori masala:
  • 1 cup - curd
  • 3 to 4 tbsp - kaju paste
  • 1 tbsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • Lime juice
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Traditional Paneer Tikka Masala

  • Cube the paneer. Prepare tandoori masala and apply it on the paneer cubes. Roast the paneer in an oven for 2-3 minutes.
  • In a hot kadai, add tomato to melted butter.
  • Add chilli powder, jeera powder, garam masala, kasuri methi and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add curds and kaju paste to it.
  • Add cream gradually as the oil leaves the gravy.
  • Add the roasted paneer to the gravy.
  • Garnish it with mawa, cream, chopped coriander leaves and broken kaju pieces.
  • Serve it with hot parathas.
