Ingredients

  • 1 cup - rava
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Tomato
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Onion
  • 1/3 cup - Ghee
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 2 - Cinnamon
  • 4 - slit Green chillies
  • Chopped Ginger pieces
  • Curry leaves - few
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • How to Make Traditional Tomato Bhath:

    1. Roast rava till the raw smell is lost (do not brown).
    2. Heat ghee, season with mustard, cloves, cinnamon, green chillies and curry leaves.
    3. Add onion and fry till soft (not coloured).
    4. Add 2.5 cup of water, turmeric, salt, ginger and tomato.
    5. When the water boils, reduced the flame and simmer for 5 minutes.
    6. Add rawa. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
    7. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
