Ingredients

  • For the outer covering:
  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Oil/Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • A pinch of salt
  • For The Filling:
  • Fresh Coconut - 2 cups
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Cinnamon for flavouring
  • Keshar optional
  • How to Make Traditional Ukadiche Modak:

    1. For the outer covering:
    2. Mix all the ingredients very well and microwave for 2 mins on high power.
    3. Remove and mix food processor with the soft blade to form a ball.
    4. If some water remains keep for another min.
    5. Shape the modaks and steam in the microwave for 3mins.
    6. Tip: Before steaming dip in water each modak.
    7. Enjoy the most famous Maharashtrian sweet.
