Ingredients

  • 1 cup - vegetables cut into pieces (carrot, beans, cabbage, any leafy vegetable)
  • 1/2 cup - moong dal or green gram dal (cheru payar)
  • 1/2 cup - Milk
  • 1/2 piece - Onion
  • 1/2 piece - ginger, crushed
  • 1 pods - garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 2 tsp - Ghee or Butter
  • 1 cup - water

How to Make Traditional Vegetable Soup

  • Cook the vegetables, onion, ginger, garlic and dal in a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water, for 10 mins on low flame.
  • Drain the water into a pan.
  • Pure the vegetables and add to the pan.
  • Add milk and one cup of water.
  • Bring to a boil for 5 mins.
  • Add salt, pepper powder and ghee to taste.
