  • 1 cup - Almond powder
  • 1 cup - cashew powder
  • 1 cup - Pistachio powder
  • 1 cup - mawa (125 g) (khoya)
  • 1.5 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tbsp - Cardamom powder
  • a few strands of Saffron
  • a few slices of Almond and Pistachio
  • How to Make Tri-rangi Barfi:

    1. Take cashew, almond and pistachio powder in 3 separate pans.
    2. Add 1/3 quantity of mawa in each pan.
    3. Add equal quantity on cardamom powder in all 3.
    4. To the almond mixture, add saffron paste.
    5. Add water to the sugar. Heat and prepare into thick syrup.
    6. Add equal quantity of syrup in all 3 pans. Stir well on a low flame, separately, one by one.
    7. When the pista mixture thickens, cool a little, pour in a greased thali. Grease palm with ghee and flatten gently.
    8. Pour cashew nut mixture and once again with a greased palm flatten gently.
    9. To make saffron paste:
    10. Soak a few strands of saffron in a tbsp of water or milk for about 5 minutes.
    11. Grind with a metal or stone pestle.
    12. If milk is used for preparing the paste then it has to be used up and cannot be kept for later use
