  • 1/2 kg - Rice
  • 100 g - Channa dal
  • 100 g - Urad Dal
  • 3 - chillies
  • A small piece Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 - grated Coconut
  • How to Make Tumbler Idli:

    1. Soak rice and channa dal together. Soak urad dal separately for an hour. Grind them separately.
    2. Mix both the batters thoroughly, adding salt.
    3. Keep aside for about 6 hours.
    4. At the time of preparation, grind chillies, ginger, cumin seeds together and add to the dough.
    5. Add grated coconut to the dough.
    6. Grease tumblers with oil.
    7. Fill half of the tumblers with dough and now steam them in an idli cooker.
    8. This goes well with green chutney.
