Ingredients

  • 1 - Turkey
  • 6 cups - Chestnuts
  • 1 cup - melted Butter
  • 2 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 tsp - pepper
  • 1/2 cup - Cream
  • 2/3 cup - dry bread crumbs
  • 3 tbsps - chopped Parsley
  • 1 cup - chopped Celery
  • 2 tbsps - grated Onion
  • broiled sausages (for the garnish)
  • How to Make Turkey with Chestnut Dressing and Butter:

    1. Shell and skin the chestnuts and drop them into boiling salted water. Cook them until they are soft.
    2. Mash them and combine them with the remaining ingredients.
    3. Fill the cleaned turkey with the dressing.
    4. Roast the turkey uncovered in a slow oven at 300 degrees F until tender.
    5. Season with salt and pepper when it is half cooked.
    6. Serve on hot platter and garnish with broiled sausages.
