Ingredients

  • 100 g - Tuvar dal
  • 1 bunch - Palak
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 to 3 pieces - Garlic Cloves
  • 2 to 3 pieces - whole Red Chillies
  • 1 - Onion
  • 1 - Tomato
  • 1 pinch - Asafoetida
  • oil for cooking
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Tuvar Paalak:

    1. Wash dal and boil it with chopped palak, salt, chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. When done, mash it little.
    2. Take a pan and heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When they crackle, add garlic.
    3. Next add onions, tomatoes, red chillies and a pinch of asafoetida.
    4. When these are cooked, add the dal mixture and mix well.
    5. It can be eaten with roti or rice.
