  • 3 bananas ripe
  • 1/2 cup - mixture of: maida, rava and rice flour
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 3 tsp - sugar powdered
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 tbsp - hot ghee
  • Ghee for deep frying

How to Make Unstuffed Modak for Naivedya

  • Sieve together all flours, sugar, salt.
  • Seed and crush cardamoms.
  • Peel and mash bananas well.
  • Mix all ingredients except ghee for frying.
  • Knead into a soft sticky dough.
  • Heat ghee in frying pan.
  • When hot, wet hand, pick up some dough.
  • Drop pellet shaped bits of dough into ghee.
  • Frying on medium till golden.
  • Drain, repeat for remaining dough.
