Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Rice
  • 2 tbsps - oil
  • 1 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp - Urad Dal
  • 1 tbsp - Cumin seeds
  • 5 - Red Chillies
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
  • 4-5 - Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Jaggery -1 tbsp
  • 5 cups - boiled water
  • How to Make Vadakki Mudde:

    1. Fry rice till it is warm. Powder to a sooji or rava consistency.
    2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottom vessel. Put in all the ingredients, one by one, and add powdered rice and fry for 2 mins.
    3. Add boiling water to the rice and cover for 5-7 mins.
    4. Take the mix, make into small balls. Make a hole at the centre and steam in the idli mould.
