Ingredients

  • 1 - valappu (plantain inflorescence)
  • 1 bunch - murungakeerai (drumstick leaves)
  • 100 g - green gram
  • 1-2 - Red Chillies
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 3 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 3-4 - small Sambar Onions
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • How to Make Valappu Murungakeerai Kootu:

    1. Clean and cut valappu. Clean keerai.
    2. Soak paruppu in water for 2 hours. Boil valappu, keerai, and paruppu for 15 mins.
    3. When they are fully cooked, keep aside
    4. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard.
    5. When it splutters, add red chillies, onions and stir for a minute .
    6. Then add the boiled valappu mixture and sautee for 2 mins.
    7. Add grated coconut and serve hot.
