  • 1/4 cup - whole black pepper
  • 1 cup - Urad Dal
  • 1 - handful Curry leaves
  • 2 cups - Red Chilli
  • How to Make Vathakuzhambu Podi:

    1. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a heavy bottomed pan, and add red chillies and fry for a while and take it in a mixer.
    2. Heat another tsp of oil in the pan and add urad dal, pepper and curry leaves and fry till the dal becomes golden brown colour.
    3. Allow the fried ingredients to cool off.
    4. Now grind all the above fried ingredients in a mixer to a fine powder.
    5. Now the vathakuzmambu podi is ready to use.
