How to Make Vazhakai (Raw Banana) and Malli Kuzhambu

  • Dry roast all ingredients from the list 'To Grind' and grind everything as fine paste with enough water. Heat the gingili oil and add the fenugreek seeds, let them fry.
  • Add the diced onions, chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and saute everything until the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the raw banana pieces, stir for few minutes.
  • Now stir in the ground paste and cook everything in simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add the tamarind extract with red chilli powder, salt to the cooking vegetables.
  • Cook until the oil gets separates and the gravy turns thick. Enjoy with hot steaming rice with papads!
