  • 2 - Raw plantains
  • 1 - Onion
  • 6 or 7 - Green chillies
  • A pinch of Turmeric powder
  • 2 sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Oil
  • Mustard, Urad Dal, Channa Dal and Hing for seasoning
  • 2 tbsp - Grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp - Lime juice
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Vazzaikkai Podimas:

    1. Cut plantains into halves and microwave or steam them in a pressure cooker.
    2. Let it cool and remove the outer skin.
    3. Crumble the plantain and set it aside.
    4. Heat oil in a pan and add the seasonings.
    5. Add chopped green chillies, curry leaves, onions, and fry till onions are translucent.
    6. Now add the plantains, salt and turmeric powder and saute.
    7. When done, sprinkle grated coconut and add a dash of lime juice.
