Ingredients

  • 2 cups - rice
  • 1/2 cup - moong dal
  • Vegetables like carrot, beans and peas
  • 1 tsp - ghee
  • 1 inch - ginger
  • 1 pod - cardamom
  • 2 - cloves
  • 1 - small cinnamon stick
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Veg kara pongal

  • Cook rice along with moong dal, vegetables and salt.
  • Heat ghee, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper powder, cumin, grated ginger and curry leaves.
  • Add the seasoning to the rice, mix well and serve.
