Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup - arhar dal, Split Pigeon Pea
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 50g - beans
  • 1 inch - Ginger
  • 100g - Cauliflower
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Tamarind extract
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Vegetable arhar dal:

    1. Clean dal and soak in water for 15 mins.
    2. Cut vegetables into 1 inch pieces, slit chillies and chop ginger and garlic.
    3. Pressure cook dal with turmeric powder, chillies and salt up to 3 whistles.
    4. Cook vegetables till tender.
    5. Heat oil, fry cumin, add ginger-garlic and saute.
    6. Add chilli, coriander powder, tamarind extract and some water and stir.
    7. Add cooked dal and vegetables and boil for 5 mins on low heat.
    8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
