Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • black gram(urad dal) - 1 tsp
  • finely chopped Curry leaves - 2 tsp
  • finely chopped Carrot - 1/2 cup
  • finely chopped beans - 1/2 cup
  • idly batter - 3 to 4 cup
  • salt to taste

How to Make Vegetable Idlis

  • Heat oil in a non stick kadai. Add mustard.
  • When it splutters, add dal and fry till it is golden brown.
  • Add curry leaves and vegetables. Add salt.
  • Sprinkle 3-4 tbsps of water and simmer till the vegetables are soft and water is absorbed.
  • Cool and add to the batter.
  • Pour in greased idly moulds and steam for 15 mins.
  • Serve hot with sambhar and chutney.
