Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • black gram(urad dal) - 1 tsp
  • finely chopped Curry leaves - 2 tsp
  • finely chopped Carrot - 1/2 cup
  • finely chopped beans - 1/2 cup
  • idly batter - 3 to 4 cup
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Vegetable Idlis:

    1. Heat oil in a non stick kadai. Add mustard.
    2. When it splutters, add dal and fry till it is golden brown.
    3. Add curry leaves and vegetables. Add salt.
    4. Sprinkle 3-4 tbsps of water and simmer till the vegetables are soft and water is absorbed.
    5. Cool and add to the batter.
    6. Pour in greased idly moulds and steam for 15 mins.
    7. Serve hot with sambhar and chutney.
