  • 8 - bread slices
  • Butter - 2 tsp
  • 1 - onion, big, chopped
  • 1 - tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 cup - carrots, grated
  • 1/4 cup - capsicum, chopped
  • 1/4 cup - cabbage, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 2 tsp - green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

How to Make Vegetable Masala Sandwich - Iyengar Bakery Style

  • Heat oil in a pan, fry the green chillies, chopped onions, saute until the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the grated carrot, chopped cabbage, chopped capsicum and chopped tomatoes, salt and garam masala powder.
  • Saute for a few mins, and simmer. Add the red chilli powder, cook for a while.
  • Add the chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove
  • Melt the butter in a pan, toast the bread slices one by one, now gently spread the prepared vegetable masala over a toasted bread slices and sandwich the masala with another toasted slice and serve.
